By synthesizing literature on digital currencies, digital payments, payment risks, and data security, this paper summarizes the current academic discourse on topics related to digital currencies and proposes new perspectives on the contributions of digital currencies to contemporary society. Meanwhile, this article also conducts an in-depth examination of potential risks and offers solutions to address existing challenges. Furthermore, the study demonstrates that the value of digital currencies and digital payments lies in their ability to enhance operational efficiency, conserve resources, improve convenience, and strengthen government oversight of capital flows. It also acknowledges that a society that fully utilizes digital currency does entail issues such as information security concerns, challenges for vulnerable groups, and irrational consumption.
